Music is neither a subject nor just art; music is a part of human life. Music is one of life's richest palettes. Lacking music, our lives will significantly reduce color.
Children and adults are both easily attracted to music. Even babies who cannot speak still sway and bounce every time certain music pops up, still humming along with the familiar lyrics and enjoying being sung to by others. Since its birth, the fire of music has been in all of us. If a catalyst cannot be found to blow it up, the fire will die out. However, if suitable land is found, a seed of talent will germinate and bear fruit. Creating a garden full of conditions for the development of preschool music is Ukiyo Preschool's mission.
Ukiyo has brought music into their children's curriculum most methodically and completely. At Ukiyo, music is approached in many different ways. Different aspects of music knowledge are exploited by teachers in a simple, easy-to-understand way for preschool children, but still ensure academic accuracy and spirit of joy and interest in the subject. Another special feature is - in Ukiyo, the music program is taught entirely in English. Ukiyo's Preschool teachers understand that children need an environment to immerse themselves in a diverse and rich language. Children under 3 years old can absorb more than one language, maybe two, three or more if the environment is rich enough. Therefore, through music, children have the opportunity to be immersed in more than one language. Through musical activities, children can listen to songs, listen to stories in music, speak, sing, think in English - to learn English as a second language, not as a foreign language.
