Children often lose concentration when parents put too many things in front of the children such as full of cookie-cutter, rolling pins, and other random items so children don’t know items to start, distraction and time connected to an object undurably; too many colors of playdough so children often mix all playdough and end up only one black color.

DIY making playdough for your children has many meanings in education, relationship connection in the family, and cost-saving. Besides, children learn that we can do anything with our brains and hands. Moreover, children receive toys made by their parents that bring different spiritual values more than buying them from a store.

Ukiyo preschool shares some playdough recipes and fun activities at home with parents

 

Cooked recipe for toddlers

Ingredients:

• 2 cups plain flour

• 4 tablespoons lemon juice

• 2 tablespoons cooking oil

• 1 cup salt

• food coloring

• 2 cups water

Method:

-  Add some food coloring drops to the water

-  Mix the ingredients in a saucepan, don’t worry about if the dough is too mushy

-  Stir over medium heat for about five minutes until the mixture binds and congeals.

-  Knead the dough with little plain flour

Note:

- Food coloring helps playdough create a more beautiful color

- Playdough isn’t safe to eat so that high salt content makes it taste unpleasant and children don’t want to eat it.

- Lemon juice helps playdough create the perfect texture.

- Need to cook playdough to preserve them better

 

Uncooked recipe for preschoolers

With preschoolers, Ukiyo encourages children to work with their parents to develop the skills of the hands, learn playdough recipes, and above all children love working and appreciate what they do.

Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup salt

Method:

- Mix the ingredients in a bowl

- Knead the dough, add little plain flour if the dough is too mushy.
